Campbellsville University Technology Training Center Kids College June & July 2010 Sessions
Campbellsville University Technology Training Center June 14-17, 2010 1:00—3:45 pm (deadline 6/4/10) July 12-15, 2010 9:00—11:45 am (deadline 7/2/10)
Kids College is open to those going into grades 3– 8 in the 2010-11 school year.
Students will choose two topics from the following sessions: Cookin Up a Storm – Hands on, finger lickin good' Explore ways of making ordinary foods appetizing, expereiment with recipes and then enjoy them! Don’t worry parents, it’s all good eating! Fun with Yarn—We will make French Knitters, finger knitting and crocheting, pom pom animals and learn to do lots of fun things with yarn. Lights, Sage, Action! -- This is one place where making it up as you go is encouraged! Learn to improvising, create interesting scenarios/skits. You’ll also get a hands-on introduction to stage direction, presence and many other entertaining aspects of theatre… on a REAL theatrical stage. To the ER and beyond - We will explore our organ system and discuss organ donations. We will extract our own DNA, we will learn how to save a lifwe with CPR and defibrillation and have a surprise visit from some VIP's in the mergency field. Mad Scientist-- If you love science and inventing—this class is for you. We will have hands-on experiments utilizing lab coats and goggles in an actual chemistry lab. You become the scientist creating surprise concoctions! American Girl Fun—A fun craft class for girls with 18 inch dolls. We will makeschool supplies, food jewelry and pets for the dolls along with a few matching items for you. No Boys Allowed – Fun girl’s crafts— basic cross stitching, soap and bath fizzy, friendship braclets, pins and other crafts for girls. No Girls Allowed—Fun boy’s activities—Model cars, rockets, planes and more! Flying Wild—Allow you the oppoetunity to learn, observe and understand the roll birds play in our enviroment. Throughout the week you will study bird behaviors and habits tha twill help you understand what is going on in your own back yard. Book Adventures—Share some wonderful adventures with books! Each day this class will host a party for a different children’s book character with stories, songs, games, projects, and activities. Art Smart - learn about different periods of art; make a collage , decoupage and make paper. Adventures in Agriculture - Hands on program where you travel from the farm to the dinner table while learning about field preparation, photosynthesis, processing wheat, making cheese and much more. Registration/Tuition Tuition for each 4-day camp is $75. This covers the entire instructional program, including materials, kits, & a T-shirt. Tuition must be included with the registration form. No refunds once a student is accepted. Kids College is filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
